This New West heritage home was in complete disrepair when it was purchased by the owner in 2004. Originally built in 1926 as a single-family home, previous tenants had created rooms out of flimsy drywall and had not taken care of any aspect of the home in decades.
JND Design & Build was called upon to do a full top to bottom renovation, including foundation replacement, the creation of a lower level in-law suite, full electrical and plumbing replacement, fireplace installation and the building of a second-floor deck. Near the project’s completion, Ken met the daughter of the original owner of the home who, after being inside, burst into tears! She returned the next day with some photographs of the living room, which had been restored to look almost exactly like the home of her childhood.
This project is one of JND’s favourites.
